Terms of service

The deal, in plain English.

These are the terms that apply when you use earlybrick.co.uk or subscribe to EarlyBrick. They're written to be read. Last updated: 1 July 2026.

1. Who we are

EarlyBrick is operated by EarlyBrick ("we", "us"). You can reach us any time at contact@earlybrick.co.uk. "You" means the person or business using the service.

2. What the service is (and isn't)

EarlyBrick is an information service. We monitor public planning records across Essex, organise them into trade-specific leads (which trades a project needs, its likely size and value, and when to act), and deliver them by email digest, instant alerts and a web dashboard. We also offer an optional paid letter service (below).

We do not guarantee you will win work. A lead is an opportunity, not a promise: whether a project goes ahead, who the owner chooses, and what it's really worth are outside our control. Job sizes and value bands are indicative estimates, not surveys or quotations. Leads are drawn from public records, which councils sometimes publish late, amend or withdraw — we pass on what the public record says and correct errors when we find them, but we can't warrant that every record is complete or current.

3. Your account and acceptable use

Your subscription is for your business. Keep your login to yourself; you're responsible for what happens under your account. You may use the leads to find and approach work for your own business. You may not resell, republish or systematically redistribute the data, share your feed with other businesses, use the service to compile marketing databases for third parties, or use any information from us to harass anyone. Homeowners may be approached by post to the site address (a matter of public record) — never by cold call or unsolicited electronic messages, which may be unlawful. We can suspend or close accounts that break these rules; where the breach is serious we won't refund the current period.

4. Price and billing

The subscription price is shown on the pricing page (monthly, or annual where offered) and is billed in advance through Stripe. We don't store your card details. Prices can change; we'll give existing subscribers at least 30 days' notice by email, and any change takes effect from your next renewal — if you don't like it, cancel before then.

Letter credits are prepaid, non-transferable, and spent per letter at the rates shown when you buy (standard, first-class, handwritten). Credits from bundles don't expire while you hold an account. Free credits included with a subscription have no cash value.

5. The 30-day money-back guarantee

If your first month isn't worth it, email us within 30 days of your first payment and we'll refund that payment in full. The guarantee covers your first paid month (or, on an annual plan, the first 30 days — refunded in full). It doesn't cover letter-credit purchases you've already spent or postage on letters already sent. Refunds go back to your original payment method. One guarantee per customer.

6. Cancelling

Cancel any time from your account (Manage billing) — no notice period, no contract. Your access continues to the end of the period you've paid for and no further payments are taken. If you're a consumer, distance-selling law gives you a 14-day cooling-off right; our 30-day guarantee is more generous, so in practice the guarantee is the route to use.

7. The letter service

When you place a "post it for me" order we print and post the letter you composed, to the site address on the lead, using the credits stated. We aim to post within 2 working days (handwritten letters may take a little longer, and are limited each week — the composer shows availability). You are the sender: you're responsible for the content of your letter being accurate, lawful and yours to send. Once a letter has been posted the credits are spent; if we fail to post an order, we re-credit it.

8. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited. Otherwise: the service is provided with reasonable skill and care, but — as an information service built on public records — we're not liable for decisions you take based on a lead, for a lead being inaccurate because the public record was, or for loss of profit or business. If we're ever liable to you, our total liability is capped at what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

9. Changes and the boring rest

We may update these terms; material changes get 30 days' email notice, and continued use after that means you accept them. If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest stands. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.

Questions about any of this: contact@earlybrick.co.uk. How we handle personal data is in the privacy policy.
